It’s my 6-year Blogversary!

Chicks and Salsa may be the longest ‘job’ I have held. 296 blog posts and 1240 Instagram posts later, here we are! Starting my own small business in 2016 has led to many meaningful opportunities. I have fostered relationships crafted 100% by hard work, consistency, and you all – my readers, followers, friends, and family. Thank you to many of you who were there when I started and are still here.  I see you, and I appreciate you.

I have written about why I started and shared some of my early partnerships in previous posts.  Today I wanted to share why all the hard work was worth it.  There are big partnerships I have been lusting after that have (finally!) recently come to fruition, but the WHY I am still doing it is not about partnerships.

Starting Chicks and Salsa was always about learning.  Learning to write, learning to network, learning to create, learning to be vulnerable, and learning to commit.  It was about so much more than the clothes, the makeup, and the events.  It was about finding my tribe in person and online; it was about learning by DOING.

I made my first website, created my first LLC, learned photography essentials, and took numerous courses online to learn the in’s and out’s of ‘having a blog.’ Since starting, things have changed, and Instagram‘s influence on our e-commerce culture has skyrocketed. We also have TikTok as a new place to learn new things and find inspiration.  Every few months, there are new things to keep up with and learn.  I love the variety that creating Chicks and Salsa offers; it is flexible and ever-evolving.

In 2018, I launched MVP Media, a social media management company that has allowed me to convert what I do for Chicks and Salsa for small brands and businesses.  To date, I have worked for dozens of companies to help elevate their social media presence.

Learn more about MVP Media here.

With no end in sight, I plan to keep creating fun, entertaining, inspirational, or educational content.

This post is about gratitude.  I am genuinely grateful to have found a small corner of the internet to call my own, thanks to you.  As always, thanks for your time and your love.

Stay tuned; there is more to come!
Your Chick,
Rina

Amazon Beauty Finds

I recently became an official Amazon Beauty Influencer, so exciting!  As part of my commitment to you all and Amazon, I will be sharing the best-selling seasonal products for each month!

Chapped Lips

As the temperatures cool, dry skin and hair are skincare priorities!  My daughters have severely chapped lips; they use and love Burts Bees 100% natural moisturizing lip balm.  With over 73K 5 star reviews, you know your lips are in the best hands.

Dry Skin

For dry skin, I use a full-body moisturizer that works well for the whole family, such as the  CeraVe Moisturizing Cream.  I LOVE hand creams; I keep them bedside and in my car; my current favorite is First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream.

Dull Hair

The cold weather can cause hair to become brittle and break more easily.  To prevent breakage and keep your hair looking healthy all year round, try the best-selling Olapex Bonding Oil.  This non-greasy oil is perfect for frizzy, dry hair.

Along the hair care lines, I wanted to drop a pitch for the Tea Tree Shaping Cream.  This unisex hair cream has a flexible hold that is perfect for managing flyaways.  Both my daughters and my husband use it!

With a few more months of winter ahead of us, add these skincare solutions to your cart, and rest assured that you are using the best of best products available to you!

STK Atlanta Power Lunch Experience

In the middle of a workday in the heart of Buckhead, I stopped into STK Atlanta between meetings for a Power Lunch with my friends.  STK Atlanta “artfully blends the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge into one, offering a dynamic, fine dining experience with the superior quality of a traditional steakhouse.”

As soon as you walk in, you instantly feel like you are someone special.

Check out my review on Trip Advisor here.

With a combination of a stylish dining space and signature menu, STK does not disappoint and is sure to impress.

Check out this beautiful gallery of photos, and then, of course, there is the FOOD!

The Power Lunch menu is genuinely an experience designed for working lunches as well as business meetings.  $45 for a 45-minute 3-course dining experience is such a great deal and also so delicious.  Check out the menu below.

Our bartender carefully crafted some of the most divine cocktails.  I highly recommend the Fever-Tree Gin and Tonic infused with botanicals; it is a one-of-a-kind twist on a traditional drink.

Thank you so much to STK Manager Neal Alves and the team at Caren West for the opportunity to dine and share my experience at STK Atlanta.  I will be back!  Check out their full menu online here and also their special events spaces for parties and meetings.

Your Chick,

Rina

The Pop Up Life is the Best Life

I chase life through experiences; I always have. I love to ride whatever wave comes my way.  As I get older, I get more passionate about these experiences and share them with the ones I love most, my family.  Atlanta has been home to me for almost 10 years, and this city never fails to disappoint.  There is always something literally POPPING up.  There is always something exciting to see and do, from the Winky Lux installation to Slime City, the Selfie Museum, the Van Gogh exhibit, and now Candytopia.

The excitement of a temporary installation is totally different from traditional museums that you put on your list to visit eventually.  I need the pressure to get things done in life and at work (I live for deadlines).

With so many things to do in Atlanta at any given time, be sure to check these two Pop-Ups happening now before they are gone. The Illuminarium is next on my list!

The Illuminarium

Step off the beltline and into an African Safari experience like no other! This immersive Safari is something that the whole family is sure to love! For tickets, click here.

Van Gogh

I HIGHLY recommend this experience to everyone.  The Van Gogh exhibit is a truly a unique artist profile has an immersive exhibit that is unlike anything I have ever experienced and a well-coordinated virtual reality experience.  Get tickets for this event here.

Candytopia

Candytopia

This family-friendly pop-up was a HUGE hit with the kids.  After reading this review, I knew I had to take them. This was a fun visit with a very Willy Wonka vibe and statues made 100% of candy.  They also have a photosystem set up with QR codes that allow professional photos taken during your visit to be sent directly to your phone for free. To learn more, visit https://tickets.candytopia.com/event/candytopiaatl

Here is my video with a few other (not pop up) Atlanta favorites.

Also, if you are looking to shop, check out my post on Shops Around Lenox here.
