The days of brick and mortar shopping are a thing of the past. As Amazon has personally taken over my shopping habits, I’ve found Trunk Club for Women to be my next favorite way to shop. I’ve always loved to play dress up, but never enjoyed the process of digging through racks to find what I want.

You visit Trunk Club’s website and fill out a profile. Once completed, the website will match you with a stylist who will select curated items from @Nordstrom that fit your needs.

I met Lauren after filling out my profile in their beautiful downtown location. @Trunkclubwomen has multiple locations throughout the Chicago area that make for a perfect setting to find the perfect outfit (I’ve even taken girlfriends there over some champagne for shopping parties)!

In our first meeting she came prepared with a few selected outfits she thought matched my initial profile. To be honest, I didn’t love all of her selections the first time around. Just like anything else, it takes time to develop a relationship and understanding about what the other person is looking for.

Over time, we have developed an understanding of what my style, size and needs are! Now when she sends a Trunk, I like majority of the selections she’s made. Since @TrunkClubwomen is in partnership with Nordstrom, you know what you’re getting is going to be good quality. I can’t always say for my Amazon purchases. What I love most about it is once you find someone who gets you, you can get trunks seasonally to keep you stylish without any of the effort of following trends and digging through racks of clothing.

#TrendWatch at the Jeffrey Fashion Cares Event

On Monday, August 26^th, 2019 Atlanta’s most philanthropic and fashionable affair, Jeffrey Fashion Cares, celebrated 27 stylish years. The annual event, which has become a mainstay on Atlanta’s social circuit, was founded by acclaimed retailer and arbiter of style, Jeffrey Kalinsky, who recently expanded his Atlanta store in Phipps Plaza and is now offering both men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, accessories and jewelry.

We enjoyed a cocktail reception and dynamic silent auction followed by a high-energy live auction where $100,000 was raised in under 15 minutes! The evening’s pièce de résistance, a runway show featuring Kalinsky’s style selections from high-end designer looks from Celine, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Dries Van Noten, Sacai, Saint Laurent Paris, Balenciaga, Valentino, Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik. The 2019 event was held at Phipps Plaza and benefits the Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF), and the Medical University of South Carolina.

This sold out event was beautifully executed with all of the who’s who of Atlanta, including Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Fall Trend Watch

There were so many stylish Fall fashion previews that were stunning on the runway, but four trends stood out.

Fun Thigh High Boots

Fringe, fur, and animal print boots that make an outfit super playful were definitely and inspiration for #FallFashion.

Neon Colors

Surprisingly, the show featured many bright and fun colors including neons.

Sequin

As expected metallic and sequin looks will be making a comeback as we head towards the holidays.

Unique Trench Coats

Coats that were belted, worn as capes, long and short were featured in this years show. Keep your layers light and easy with one of these trendy trenches.

Dare To Bare Your Shoulders This Summer With These Trendy Tops

If you have been following us on Instagram, you know that we are gushing over tops that bare your shoulders – tube tops, one-shoulder tops and open shoulder tops are quickly becoming a favorite! This style makes us feel trendy while feeling practical.

With the long weekend upon us and the summer around the corner I anticipate a lot of family outings and these shirts are casual, cute, and comfortable (the essential three C’s!).

These two from Revolve prove that when it comes to quality clothing, you get what you pay for. These are not bargain buys per se, but they are extremely well made and have a unique design that I have not been able to find anywhere else. Definitely worth the price.

This black one shoulder t-shirt fits well along the neck line so that you don’t have to worry about it slipping down your arm. It’s lightweight so it won’t be too hot for the summer and shows just enough to be youthful while still maintaining a certain level of modesty. I am wearing a size medium in the photograph.

This mauve colored peek-a-boo shoulder top is comfortable and form fitting. It has a double knit layer that hugs the body perfectly! With its high neck and long length, I don’t need to worry about showing too much (see my post of bodysuits here). This one is also a size medium and true to size.

Fall Shopping Haul – 4 Trends to Watch For

The chicks have compiled a list of items that we have splurged on this season. One thing we noticed is that this fall has the most unique sweater trends we have seen a while!

Cold Shoulder is Still a Thing

So grateful that we can hang on to this summer trend! The cold shoulder and off-the-shoulder sweaters are surprisingly comfortable and warm! Although it won’t help you beat the cooler temps, looking extra ‘hot’ may help.

New Textures

Anyone notice that suddenly velvet and suede are everywhere? These fabrics are super fun, they have an iridescent look to them that brighten up any outfit. Velvet has a way of feeling formal and fancy, so grab at least one thing velvety for your wardrobe this year.

Red Is the New Black

We started to take notice when Clark and Stone had suddenly splashed red all over her Instagram and blog that red really kind of looks nice with natures fall colors and of course our favorite lipsticks. The chicks tend to gravitate to nudes and blacks so it was fun to finally add some red to the wardrobe this season.

Statement Sleeves

Ok, this one is what makes sweaters this year different. The sleeves this year are so unique and chic that they do all the talking this season. Some are layered, ruffled, multi-colored, and ballooned! These loose fitting looks make a girl feel good and on trend. Abiha Khan shared some of her Asos and Nordstom finds and we could not agree more with the variety that she scooped up!
